I have long held a dream of practicing qigong in different parks throughout Oklahoma City. The time has come, and you are invited to join me at no cost. I will lead simple standing forms with the intention of not only supporting the circle, but to bring chi to the city and our neighborhoods. Because we are standing and outside, please dress for the weather (you want to be able to cover the back of the neck from the winds of Oklahoma). And, feel free to bring a chair to sit in if you are not currently able to stand for an hour. All forms can be modified to sitting and you may also just sit in the field and receive the chi. The parks and time will change but you can expect me to be leading qigong somewhere outside one Sunday morning a month. I will announce the place and time here on the website and in my newsletter (which you can subscribe to at the bottom of the page).
This month we will meet Sunday, October 28th, 2018 8:00 a.m. Kerr Park 102 Robert S. Kerr Ave, Oklahoma City, OK This park is a little tricky to find; between Couch Dr. and Robert S. Kerr Ave., between Robinson and Broadway. There is a pavilion near Couch Dr. in case it rains.
Qigong Self Practice
October 2018 will be the last month for these weekly practices.
Thursdays, 10:15 a.m. This Land Yoga, 600 NW 23rd St. Suite 208 This is a community contribution class, a $10 contribution would be welcome.
Qigong self practice is an hour of easy to follow standing qigong form lead by Karen. Using gentle repetitive movements we harmonize and balance our personal fields, tan tiens, deep pathways, meridians, and organs. Bringing these aspects of ourselves into harmony boosts vitality, balances emotions, and improves concentration. No experience is necessary. You can do these practices wearing your work clothes (minus the shoes) and may find this a restorative practice revitalizing you in the mid morning. You can sign up in advance and check for cancelled class at www.thislandyoga.com
Many thanks to Nancy Cottrell for this photo of Qigong practice.
