One of the beautiful aspects of Qigong is that, in addition to treatment being available, there are many (thousands) of forms that can be practiced by the individual that keep the energy body in right balance, good harmony, nice flow with a high quality of chi moving throughout.
Practicing in a group allows for a heightened experience of the chi. It increases awareness of the life force energy both in our body and in our environment. The synergy of the group supports accelerated change of our overall health and wellness. Over time, the practice of these forms helps soften our natural transitions between expansion and contraction, bringing extremes into balance and restoring flow to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Qigong is slow medicine and that is why we call it a practice. What you bring to it, it will give back.
I lead simple standing and sitting forms so no experience is necessary. Each week will be a little different with some forms repeated to allow you space to deepen your personal practice. All standing forms can be modified for sitting if you are not currently able to stand for an hour. I have had students sit in the field and just receive when their bodies were not able to keep up with the movement of chi, so allow yourself that experience if you find yourself in that position. The field created by the group practice will continue to support you even if you are not moving with the form. Chairs are available at the studio. Wear comfortable clothes, bring an open mind, and we will work together to begin to restore balance and harmony to all that is you.
Qigong allows me to hold the space for you to come into your body and explore what it has to offer as the forms cook the stew of your experience. They provide support for the organ systems, the connective tissue, the nervous system and the brain. They also support our emotional body, increase our focus, help support the softening of false beliefs, and support any spiritual practice that we may have, regardless of tradition. Transforming your experience through Qigong allows for that deliciously multi-layered "you" to move towards full expression.
